CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)

Qualification Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential and disability care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) qualification. Participants will also undertake HLTAID011 Provide first aid.

Duration
The course is 9 months in class plus four weeks of work placement which is a compulsory component of this qualification.
Delivery Mode
Face to face workshops occur two days each week. Assessment tasks including assignments, in addition to workshops, will be required to complete this qualification. This course is deemed as full-time study.
Entry Requirements
Whilst there are no pre-requisites stated in the training package the sector requires you to achieve a clear Police check and Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) check, and be triple vaccinated for COVID-19 (Government requirement). Current Police check, WWVP card and COVID-19 vaccination evidence must be provided prior to enrolment. Assistance to obtain this information can be provided by Foresite Training or your Workforce Australia provider.

You must have a genuine desire to work in this sector. A Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment is required to develop a support plan if necessary.
