CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Qualification Overview
Early Childhood Education and Care is a growing sector with more parents than ever utilising Early Childhood Services in all its various forms.
Completion of this qualification equips candidates with the skills and competency to undertake the role of an educator in a range of early childhood education settings, working within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.
Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools, or kindergartens.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 160 hours of work placement in a regulated children’s education and care service as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.
Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive the CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification.

| Option 1 – Classroom Based |
| Duration:
40 weeks consisting of:
Delivery Mode: Face to face Training Location: 9 Main Road, Moonah Entry Requirements: To be selected for entry into this qualification and delivery mode applicants are required to complete a suitability review, a task participation and medical checklist and a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) evaluation, prior to enrolment. Additionally, applicants must hold a working with Vulnerable People Check prior to the commencement of this program. Applicants must have genuine desire to work in this sector. |
| Option 2 – Workplace Based |
| Duration: 24 months (17 training sessions – approximately 1 session every 6 weeks, additional supervised workplace learning and work to be completed between training sessions and on the job)
Delivery mode: Blended – Face to face and on the job Training Location: Your workplace Entry Requirements: To be selected for entry into this qualification and delivery mode, applicants are required to complete a suitability review, a task participation and medical checklist and a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) evaluation, prior to enrolment. Applicants must also be currently employed with in the childcare sector and have access to a computer and stable internet connection to complete some assessment activities using an online portal. |
