What is the process?

To be eligible for a traineeship candidates are employed as trainees, enabling them to study whilst they learn the skills of occupation within the workplace. This model provides a mix of on-the-job learning and real-world experience enabling candidates to earn an income while working on their qualification. Once completed, the qualification is recognised nationally.

These qualifications are available through our traineeship program:

• CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
• CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
• CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Duration

Training contracts between Foresite Training Pty Ltd, respective employers, Australian Apprenticeship Centres, Skills Tasmania, and Department of State Growth (State Government funding body) for the delivery of traineeships vary in duration depending on the employment status of each trainee (full-time or part-time). Contract durations vary between 2 and 3 years. Fee for Service (FFS) enrolments are available for individuals working in the sector who do not meet contract traineeship funding eligibility criteria. FFS duration is two years. Payment plans are available.

Delivery

This training program is offered as a traineeship on-the-job in the workplace. Trainers provide instruction, training, mentoring, learning support and assessment services to employees (trainees). To extend learning, Foresite’s Trainers and Assessors visit the workplace on a regular basis to provide structured training, pre-arranging with employers for trainees to attend scheduled sessions either 1:1 or in small groups. Face-to-face workshops at our training venue can also be facilitated, where a simulated environment is also available. Practical training is undertaken in the workplace where trainees benefit from the reality of day-to-day operations including workplace policies and procedures, resources and equipment, and experienced staff.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be employed in a role within the respective sector (as per qualifications listed above).
• Hold a current Working with Vulnerable People Child-Related Activity check or be able to obtain one (sector requirement).
• Have a current National Police Check or be able to obtain one (Ageing, Home & Community, Disability sector requirement).
• Meet the personal immunisation records/status required for working in respective sectors (including COVID-19).
• Completion of Pre-Course suitability & Pre-Training Review.
• Completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) evaluation prior to enrolment.
